Academy sides sign West Ham United registrations

The latest group of young, exciting football talent in the Academy of Football have signed their registrations with West Ham United

Youngsters from the Academy U9s, up to the U14s age groups, were invited to a special evening at London Stadium – the home of West Ham United - to enjoy a full induction into the Academy of Football, pose for squad photos, and collect their new training kit.

The groups were given an overview of the season to come by Academy Manager Ricky Martin before being invited to participate in a question-and-answer session with various departments from the Academy of Football – including medical, operations, player care and education – as they learned more about the structure at the Chadwell Heath training ground.

The youngsters’ registrations will see them continue to work under the guidance and tutelage of Academy coaches throughout the 2022/23 season as they seek to improve their skills and abilities, and progress to the next level.

Academy Manager Martin said: “It was a great pleasure to welcome these young players and their families to London Stadium and spend a special evening with them as they continue their development within the Academy of Football.

“We recently saw our newest batch of youngsters sign scholarships, as well as the 2022 class put pen to paper on their first professional deals. Many of those young men started with West Ham United throughout the schoolboy age groups and I hope the next generation will follow in their footsteps.

“It was also great to spend time with the parents who give up so much time for our young Academy players in transporting them and supporting them week-in, week-out. To share this evening with them was a special way to continue our family feel within the Academy of Football.”
