Nayef Aguerd's Morocco booked their place in a first-ever FIFA World Cup quarter-final with a penalty shootout victory over Spain on Tuesday.
The Atlas Lions emerged 3-0 winners from the spot after a tense 0-0 draw at Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Aguerd delivered a superb performance at centre-half to help his team hold Spain at bay, before he was forced from the action after 84 minutes with what appeared to be an injury to his right groin.
Morocco, appearing in a World Cup knockout tie for just the second time in their history, battled on to take the game to its dramatic denouement, where they held their nerve to make the tournament's last eight.
After Pablo Sarabia, Carlos Soler and Sergio Busquets all missed from 12 yards for Spain, it fell to Achraf Hakimi to deliver the winning blow for his side.
Morocco will go on to face the winner of Switzerland and Portugal - who face off later on Tuesday - in Saturday's quarter-final tie.
