West Ham United Joint-Chairman David Gold surprised supporters when he took the tube to the Club's Europa League game on Thursday night and took a trip down memory lane as he made his way to the Boleyn Ground.
Mr Gold made his way on the District Line and was happy to share stories with fans on his way across London.
He then made his way out of Upton Park station and stopped at 442 Green Street where he used to grow up and has so many magical memories.
Mr Gold was pleased to stop and sign autographs and have pictures taken with a number of fans as he got nearer the Stadium and knows this is going to be an emotional time for everyone as the Club prepare for the final ever season at the Boleyn Ground.
Mr Gold said: “It was a fantastic experience to go on the train and it is probably 50-odd years since I arrived at Upton Park tube station.
“The train terminated at Plaistow, but fortunately there were some West Ham fans who told me what to do and it was terrific. It brings back some fantastic memories.
“Green Street is flooded by fans going to a game and their enthusiasm is great. The buzz is already there and they are already thinking about the new season.”
