In our exciting new feature on whufc.com, the Boleyn Insider blog will bring you exclusive insight into the behind-the-scenes goings on at the Boleyn Ground.
The Boleyn Insider will try to offer a digest on the latest gossip from around the Club and the major transfer speculation surrounding the first-team. In today's blog, he clears up the speculation surrounding the possible return of fans favourite Carlos Tevez.
The big news surrounding the Club in the last 24 hours has been the possible return of fans favourite Carlos Tevez to the Boleyn Ground.
I can exclusively reveal that the move will not take place as the Argentine players wages would be too much for West Ham to take him back. I have heard the Club have a wage cap of £64m.
I understand that a move for Tevez would take up a significant amount on the wage budget on players and that would affect any future signings.
My sources tell me that the West Ham hierarchy would love to have him back at the Club but they are very aware of the financial situation and have to adhere to it.
I believe the Club are also conscious of the fact that a player earning that much money could have a bearing on team morale and he could be earning ten times more than another player in the squad.
I understand that the Club are working hard to bring in three or four more players and are negotiating hard, but with the season still seven weeks away they are not panicking and will make sure they get the signings they want to improve the squad.
In view of that my understanding is that they are working hard to try and sign another Premier League player on loan, but my sources tell me that another Club have made an unbelievable offer to sign him.
West Ham have not given up hope of landing his signature and will see what develops over the next few days.
