- Born in Buenos Aires, Calleri started his senior career with the All Boys club which also developed former West Ham favourite Carlos Tevez in the 1990s.
- Calleri appeared as a teenager at the Viareggio Cup competition in Tuscany, Italy, in February 2013, scoring in a win over Italian club Sampdoria.
- A first-team debut arrived in August 2013, when the 19-year-old Calleri appeared as a substitute in the Copa Argentina tie against Estudiantes de La Plata.
- A Primera Division debut arrived the following month, when Calleri played for the final 16 minutes at Argentinos on 7 September 2013.
- Calleri’s maiden senior goal arrived in the Primera Division draw at Arsenal de Sarandi on 1 November 2013 – two months after his 20th birthday.
- The forward joined Boca Juniors in July 2014, where he managed an impressive 21 goals and eleven goals in 53 appearances in all competitions in his debut season.
- The 2014/15 campaign also brought silverware in the shape of Primera Division and Copa Argentina winner’s medals.
- Calleri later spent the 2015 Argentine season playing alongside Tevez at Boca Juniors. The pair combined to score 24 goals between them in all competitions.
- Calleri finished as the top scorer in the 2016 Copa Libertadores with nine goals – one more than fellow countrymen Marco Ruben of Rosario Central and Ismael Sosa of Mexican club UNAM Pumas.
- The 22-year-old’s form saw him included – initially alongside Manuel Lanzini – in Argentina’s Olympic squad for Rio 2016, where he scored the winner in the group-stage victory over Algeria.
