We are all disappointed over the outcome of the opening Premier League game against Chelsea.

I felt we should have come away with a point after Ginge scored a great goal to help us get back into the game.

It was only last season that Chelsea were awarded a penalty in the final minute when the replays showed the challenge took place outside the box.

Chelsea had the luck again this season but what goes around comes around and hopefully we will get a bit more fortune when we face them at home later in the season.

It has not been a great week for the Club with injuries to key players and we were all devastated to hear the news that record signing Andre Ayew will now face a significant spell on the sidelines.

I feel devastated for the player and the football club. I wish him a speedy recovery and I know he is in the best possible hands as we look to get him back to full fitness.

We are missing a top quality player for a few months and you have to say we have been very unlucky when it comes to our players getting injured.

A number of clubs are blighted with injury, but others don't have any and you only have to look at Leicester last season who were able to field the same team for the majority of the season.

Hopefully our luck with injuries will get better and we can name the same team for a long period.

We are still in four big tournaments and the squad is being tested to the maximum at the moment, but it does give the younger players the chance to emerge and show Slaven they are ready to play in the first-team.

You only have to look at the Europa League tie against Astra Giurgiu to see evidence of that and I thought all the young players produced impressive displays.

Young Marcus Browne came on and almost got us the second goal with a great piece of skill to burst clear of the defence before he unselfishly passed the ball to Michail Antonio, but he just failed to find the back of the net.

He looks a serious prospect and showed he is hungry to push for a place in the first-team squad.

Our new signing Jonathan Calleri also had an impressive debut and could have easily got on the scoresheet.

We have to remember that he has only recently got off the plane from South America and is probably suffering a bit of jet lag, but he still showed glimpses of why we have brought him into the squad.

We have also got Ashley Fletcher as well waiting to come in.

I am sure Slaven would have taken a lot of positives from the game and the fact that both Reece Oxford and Reece Burke got another game under their belt.

There was another good performance from Sam Byram and he never lets us down when he is given the opportunity.

The experience of playing European football will help all these young players and it will be even more beneficial if we qualify for the group stages.

We looked like we could win the game on Thursday night but having made a long trip to Romania, you could see it had an affect on the players towards the end of the game.

Having said that, the away goal will be crucial for us heading into the second leg and although we could qualify with a 0-0 draw next week, I am sure Slaven will want to attack them and produce a similar performance to the one that saw us comfortably beat NK Domzale in the last round.

Before that game we play our first ever Premier League game at the new Stadium against Bournemouth on Sunday and we have been waiting for this day for six-years.

There is not a ticket to be had and we would like to reverse the 4-3 scoreline from last season.

I am really looking forward to the game and know our fans will make it a day to remember.

I will never forget hearing the fans sing Bubbles for the first time when the players walked out in the first ever game a few weeks ago and it was one of the most emotional moments in my career in football.

I was walking towards my seat at the time but I had to stop and just take in the atmosphere around the Stadium.

There are certainly no more arguments about how we can re-create the atmosphere at our new home and it is among the best in the country.

I have no doubts this will be the same on Sunday and we hope to celebrate a memorable victory in our historic first league game at the new Stadium.
