We all follow the West Ham

West Ham United’s pre-season trip to Austria was particularly good news for supporters based in the central European country – and the Club possesses quite a few, as we found out at Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Karlsruher SC in Kapfenberg.

We caught up with Dennis Dusika, of the Austrian Irons Supporters Group, who told us of his delight when he discovered Slaven Bilic’s men would be touring his homeland this summer…

My support for West Ham came about through a friend. They brought me to West Ham and it was the passion and the experience around the ground, not only the football, that drew me to them.

Last season, when they play good football, it’s even better!

The Austrian Irons group is a connection that tries to bring together all the Austrian West Ham fans. When they want to go to games and have questions, we can support them with the answers.

It’s not a Club as such, more a connection of how to get the Austrian fans together and how we can help them.

An Essex-born friend of mine has a bar in Vienna too called the Tube Station, so we regularly watch games there, having a few pints, having a good day and hopefully watching a winning West Ham side.

I was really delighted when I heard West Ham were coming over here. I heard rumours that the Hammers were coming to Austria so I was checking and it was nice when the Club confirmed that they were going to be here.

I started mobilising people to come over to Kapfenberg to watch the team we love playing in our country.

Saturday was a good day all round. It was nice to see all the Hammers here in Austria and so many people made it over.

The weather was perfect, it was a nice victory and I’m really looking forward to the new season.

I’m really looking forward to getting over to London and seeing the new Stadium. I know we have 50,000 Season Ticket Holders so it will be quite hard to get tickets, but we will definitely try and hope we can have one, two or three games to see there this season.
