James Collins and Wales were beaten 3-0 by Sweden on Sunday
James Collins won his 47th Wales cap as Chris Coleman’s side concluded their preparations for UEFA Euro 2016 with a 3-0 friendly defeat to fellow finalists Sweden on Sunday.
Collins came off the bench with 64 minutes played and the score at 2-0 to Sweden to play his part at the Friends Arena in Stockholm.
With Gareth Bale only playing 26 minutes as a substitute himself, Wales were unable to give their Euros campaign the winning kick-start they hoped for before the action gets underway for real on Saturday.
Sweden opened the scoring in the first half through Emil Forsberg, before Celtic man Mikael Lustig doubled the advantage. John Guidetti completed the goalscoring near the end,
Taking part in their first major finals since 1958, Wales begin their Group B fixtures by taking on Slovakia at 5pm BST in Bordeaux on Saturday.
The much-anticipated derby clash with England follows on Thursday 16 June in Lens, before the group ends with Wales playing Russia on Monday 20 June.
Of the other Hammers heading to Euro 2016, Dimitri Payet and France kick the tournament off by facing Romania on Friday, Darren Randolph’s Republic of Ireland play Sweden next Monday and Angelo Ogbonna’s Italy face their final warm-up against Finland on Monday evening.
