- Sofiane Feghouli hails from the same Paris suburb – Levallois-Perret – as 1905 Tour de France winning cyclist Louis Trousselier
- Feghouli is the youngest of four sons of Algerian-born parents who emigrated to France
- The winger played for Red Star and Paris FC in the French capital before moving to Grenoble Foot 38 as a teenager
- Feghouli won promotion to Ligue 1 in 2007/08 – his first season as a regular in Grenoble’s starting XI
- The 26-year-old joined Spanish Primera Division club Valencia CF on a free transfer in summer 2010
- The wideman made his UEFA Champions League debut for Valencia against Manchester United at Old Trafford in December 2010
- Feghouli switched international allegiance from France to Algeria in 2011, scoring on his debut against The Gambia in February 2012
- The Desert Foxes star won the Algerian Footballer of the Year award in 2012 – an award won last season by Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez
