We could not have written the script any better than what we saw in the final ever game at the Boleyn Ground. It was simply amazing.
It was a big day for the football club but the key was that we had a big game and we needed the three points.
We were playing the mighty Manchester United who were desperate to win and I was speaking to their chairman and we knew how big this was for them as well as they wanted to get into the Champions League.
But we also needed the victory as we want to qualify for the Europa League. We had to concentrate on that first and the game was unbelievable.
It was exciting and we got off to a great start with an early goal which lifted the crowd. The fans were excited but almost like it was scripted we went two goals behind and were fearing the worst.
But we fought back and played some wonderful stuff. The winning goal from Winston Reid was amazing and for him to get the winner was fantastic. I have never seen the crowd celebrate a goal like that.
We have seen some magical nights under the lights at the Boleyn Ground and the last game was no exception.
We then had an amazing closing ceremony. Considering the delay we had at the start of the game, hardly a person left the stadium and it is unbelievable support.
The fans were fantastic and I am told there were a few thousand outside who were watching the fireworks and they must have been there all evening. It just goes to show how strong the support is for this great football club.
It was very emotional and I know there were people crying.
We are saying goodbye to our second home and this has been a part of my life and the lives of many fans for a number of years but we have to say goodbye and let go.
The memories will always be with us, but we now must start to look forward to our new adventure where we go into a new 60,000 stadium with 52,000 season ticket holders. We have another 20,000 on the waiting list.
This shows the strength of our football club and the fans are telling us that we can be an even bigger club. We must start delivering.
You can see the energy and determination from our players and I go up to Stoke in our final game on Sunday believing we can come away with three points.
Even though Stoke have been on a tough run, they will want to end the season on a high note, but I think we are a good side and we have players who want to win. They want to go the extra mile.
We saw that against Manchester United and the players gave everything.
I want to thank the fans once again for all their magnificent support this season and we hope to make it a memorable end to the campaign.
