West Ham United may have to wait the best part of two weeks to get back to action, but the trip to Tottenham Hotspur on 19 November cannot come around soon enough for defender Angelo Ogbonna.
The Italy centre back was desperately disappointed not to convert a lead into three points against Stoke City at the weekend and wants to take the first available opportunity to land a victory after defeat at Everton and the Stoke stalemate stalled the Hammers’ recent revival.
The last five league games have nevertheless yielded eight points and Ogbonna is keen for more when the action resumes at White Hart Lane.
He said: “We are preparing for after the international break, and it is important that we didn’t lose in our stadium on Saturday.
“We are positive, we are optimistic, and we are waiting [for the next game] to improve our form.
“It was definitely two points lost on Saturday. We were so disappointed about the result, because we need to win.
“We need to stay compact and stay together. We can talk about everything, but the most important thing is to get back winning.”
