Slaven Bilic has made two changes to his West Ham United team for today’s Premier League fixture at Newcastle United.
The manager has drafted James Collins and Edimilson Fernandes into his starting XI, with Jose Fonte and the suspended Marko Arnautovic missing out from last Saturday’s team at Southampton.
Meanwhile, Manuel Lanzini returns to the matchday squad after his pre-season knee injury, taking his place on the bench alongside Cheikhou Kouyate.
Joe Hart is in goal, while Pablo Zabaleta and Aaron Cresswell fill the full-back positions, having sat out Wednesday’s Carabao Cup victory over Cheltenham Town, where West Ham not only won but secured their first clean sheet of the season.
Neither Hart nor Zabaleta have lost in a combined 26 appearances against the Magpies.
Midweek Man of the Match Collins takes his place in central defence alongside Angelo Ogbonna, who is making his 50th Premier League appearance in Claret and Blue, with Fonte dropping to the bench.
Declan Rice starts for the fourth match in a row in all competitions at the same venue where he captained the U23s to Premier League 2 promotion in May, taking on a deep-lying midfield role alongside captain Mark Noble.
Michail Antonio starts wide on the right, with Andre Ayew and Fernandes taking up the other two attacking midfield positions.
Fresh from his two-goal showing at St Mary’s Stadium a week ago, Chicharito is the lone centre forward.
The bench is completed by goalkeeper Adrian, full-back Arthur Masuaku, midfielder Pedro Obiang and striker Diafra Sakho.
For Newcastle, Rafa Benitez includes three new signings and fellow Spaniards Mikel Merino, Javier Manquillo and Joselu. Former West Ham midfielder Mo Diame is on the bench.
