It has come to the attention of the Club that young people and their families are being scammed by fraudsters posing as agents offering bogus trials at West Ham United and other clubs.
The website www.footballmanagementagency.com and the email address [email protected] have recently been used in an attempt to defraud young hopefuls, by extracting payment for fees and travel for trials that never materialise.
The fraudsters in question use falsified documents on West Ham United headed paper in an email with the subject heading, ‘Football Tryout Documents Finalization Pending Approval’.
If you have experienced a similar scam or suspicious approach, please visit www.actionfraud.police.uk for more information or to report a crime.
The reports received by Action Fraud will be forwarded to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau run by the City of London Police for collation and analysis. This will enable crucial intelligence to be gathered and preventative action to be taken.
Action Fraud say, “Sometimes people choose not to report fraud because they are embarrassed that they fell for a scam, con, swindle, or any other word used to describe the crime.
“Remember that fraud is a crime and that fraudsters will constantly reinvent themselves to find new ways of tricking people. Anyone could be a victim."
