West Ham United’s Claret and Blue was one of 166 club colours to light up Wembley to celebrate the iconic national stadium’s tenth anniversary.
The Hammers, who played in the first FA Cup final at the original Empire Stadium in 1923, returned to the Home of Football for the 2012 Championship Play-Off final exactly five years ago.
Carlton Cole and Ricardo Vaz Te scored the goals as West Ham defeated Blackpool 2-1 to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
A total of 166 club and international teams have graced the famous Wembley turf in the last decade across a variety of competitions and friendlies.
To mark the tenth anniversary since the ‘new’ Wembley was opened on 19 May 2007, and in a show of gratitude to all the clubs, the colours of each of those clubs and national teams was displayed on the famous arch.
The name and crests of the clubs were also shown on the digital screens outside of the stadium.
