Greg de Carnys has hailed the West Ham United supporters after over a thousand supporters attend the Ladies’ 3-1 victory against QPR.
Goals from Chloe Burr, Amber Stobbs and Chenise Austin secured a brilliant win for the Ladies at Rush Green as they secured their spot in the next round of the WPL Plate.
The contest coincided with a Family Fun Day at the training ground and 1,052 fans attended the event, and the cup match, to cheer on De Carnys’s side.
And the Ladies manager has praised the fans for showing their support to his team, while also revealing the onus is on his side to give the West Ham faithful a reason to keep attending.
“The support was excellent," De Carnys told whufc.com: “This is what we’re hoping to do week in and week out and the more we progress as a team the more people will want to come and watch us. It’s great to see so many people supporting the Ladies team.

“What I’ve always said to the girls is ‘you have to do your part’. We have to keep getting better as a team and playing better football so that people will want us to watch us.
“Hopefully people will be going home, telling their friends about what they’ve seen, and then more people will want to come and watch us.”
De Carnys also reserved special praise for Dougie Robertson, Head Groundsman at the Club, and his team for working tirelessly to ensure Rush Green was prepared for Sunday’s event.
“Dougie and his team have worked hard to make sure this is a fantastic event. We’re really happy and everyone involved with the Ladies is so grateful that he was able to put on such a good event.”
The Ladies returned to winning ways in their second consecutive cup game, having been eliminated from the County Cups last weekend by Crystal Palace.
De Carnys is delighted that his side have been able to get past the disappointment of their showing last week and are now back on track.
He added: “We have got back to where we expected to be. That progress is back on track now. We spoke before the game about putting right some of the things we didn’t do well enough last weekend, and I think we did that.
“All we really want is to produce the best we can week in and week out, and I think we did that today.
“I think the girls know it when they put in performance that’s not anywhere near what they’re capable of. It hurts them. That was a big incentive to put it right and make sure that we put right those wrongs. I think we did that.”
