Professional boxer and 2016 Olympian Joshua Buatsi has been confirmed as a special guest at the Academy of Football’s opening Official Coaching Association session of the 2018/19 season.
The Association kicks-off at Chadwell Heath on Tuesday 14 August, with a start time of 6pm, and boxer Buatsi will be among the speakers as he talks about the links between training for a professional fight and preparing for a football season.
Spots of the session are still available to purchase from a price of £30, while the full package of six Coaching Association sessions throughout the 2018/19 season is available to buy for a reduced price of £120.
The first session will be based around pre-season schedules at all levels of football, and Buatsi will offer an insight the mind of a professional athlete.
Buatsi – a bronze medalist for Great Britain at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic games – is a light heavyweight fighter who turned professional back in June 2017.

The 25-year-old, who is promoted by Matchroom Sports and commercially managed by Anthony Joshua, has 7-0 professional record, with five of his wins coming by knockout.
Not only a successful boxer, Buatsi graduated from St. Mary’s University Twickenham with a 2:1 degree in Sports Science, and therefore has knowledge into the workings of preparing for professional sport.
The Association, which will run six sessions over the course of the coming campaign with the first scheduled for the evening of Tuesday 14 August, follows last season’s maiden year of the scheme which proved a huge success.
The opening session of this season’s Association – at 6pm on Tuesday 14 August at the Academy’s famed Chadwell Heath base – will look at 'What pre-season looks like at your club'.
Coaches wishing to book themselves on all six sessions can now do so for the reduced price of £120 (with individual sessions later available to book onto for £30 per event). Click here to book your spot now.
