West Ham United have today expanded our eSports presence by adding the PlayStation 4 player Edi Garibovic to our squad.
Garibovic joins Xbox player Jamie ‘Jamboo’ Rigden in representing the Hammers in the sphere of competitive FIFA gaming.
West Ham were the first British football club to sign a FIFA player when they began their eSports journey in May 2016, and with Garibovic now on board, the club will be able to compete during the FIFA 19 season on two fronts.
Garibovic qualified for the Grand Finals of the recent West Ham United eSports Cup powered by Basset & Gold – beating 1,000 fellow competitors to make it through to the final 16 – following on from his success in qualifying for the FUT Champions Cup in Manchester earlier this year.
After signing his deal with the Hammers, Garibovic said: “I can’t wait to represent West Ham United.
“I never thought I’d be able to play for a Premier League club at eSports level so this feels absolutely great.”
Earlier today, the club confirmed that Jamboo has extended his stay with the club by signing a new 12-month deal. Click here to read the full story.
