Issa Diop has no worries about West Ham United’s injury list as they head to Burnley for their final Premier League game of 2018 on Sunday.
Manuel Pellegrini was without ten first team players for Thursday’s trip to Southampton, but the result did not suffer as the east Londoners left St Mary’s with all three points.
Centre back Diop, who was joined by a new partner in Angelo Ogbonna on the South Coast with Fabian Balbuena absent, was not surprised as he says the Hammers’ squad depth is shining through.
Now he wants to head into the New Year by helping the team record a sixth win in seven games.
“We have a big squad so we have a lot of players and the players who are playing now are doing the job so that’s good,” he said. “Injuries are part of football.
I’m young so I can recover quickly and all the team are the same. We have a big squad, so we can play every few days

“In training everyone works hard and works the same so all the players are waiting to play when the manager calls them.
“The start was really difficult but we are improving now. The position isn’t fantastic - we are ninth, so it’s a normal. We are winning a lot of games and I hope we can continue to do it.
“The target is the same as at the start of the season. We want to finish at the top of the table, in the highest position we can.
