Amber Stobbs has called on West Ham United Ladies to take the momentum from Sunday’s defeat of Cardiff City into the Isthmian League Cup semi-final against Whyteleafe.
The Hammers can book their place in the final of the competition with a win over Whyteleafe, of the Greater London Women’s Football League Premier Division.
Stobbs and her teammates head into the match in terrific form, having bested Cardiff 6-2 at the weekend, with the No10 herself providing four assists in a fantastic showing for Karen Ray’s side.
And the midfielder wants the team to continue showing their best when they take on Whyteleafe in midweek.
We have to take that same spirit, same drive, and same determination into the match with Whyteleafe. We want to reach the final and we have to be at our best to do that

“Sunday was an excellent result,” Stobbs told whufc.com. “Beating Cardiff the way we did does wonders for our confidence, but we don’t have time to enjoy it. We have to be ready for Wednesday.
“We have to take that same spirit, same drive, and same determination into the match with Whyteleafe. We want to reach the final and we have to be at our best to do that.”
West Ham Ladies are in fine attacking form, having netted 12 goals in their last two games, both of which have been on the road.
Stobbs is enjoying the attacking license she has been given in recent contests and is hopeful of another similar offensive display come Wednesday.
But the playmaker knows the side cannot afford to show complacency in defence if they are to beat Whyteleafe and reach the Cup final.
She continued: “The whole team has a great understanding of how we want to play, and I personally am loving my current role in the team. I enjoy scoring goals, creating chances, and getting forward.
“When we’re on the same page, as we have been in recent games, we play so well together, but what’s important is that we don’t allow our attacking flair to come at the expense of our defence.
“Whyteleafe will be a tough game. We will need both a strong defence and a creative attack to get the right result.”
