West Ham United Ladies are thrilled to announce the signing of Scotland international Jane Ross.
Ross joins the club after spending the last two-and-a-half years at Manchester City, where the striker won the Women’s Super League, the WSL Cup and the Women’s FA Cup.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to join West Ham,” Ross told whufc.com. “It’s a historic club and I can’t wait to get going with my new team.
“The plans for the season ahead and for the future are really exciting! The club have some ambitious plans which really interested me, and I can’t wait to be a part of them.”

The Scottish international has collected 118 caps and scored 56 times for her national team, having made her debut back in 2009 against England. Later that year, Ross scored her first international goal, against Denmark.
Ross’ form up front for Scotland saw the forward named in the squad for the 2017 European Championship tournament in the Netherlands.

Beard said: “Jane’s goal scoring record speaks for itself. She was one of our top targets in this off-season. Not only is Jane a goal scorer, she is a great team player and brings a wealth of experience to West Ham United.”
Ahead of working with her new head coach Ross said: “I’ve spoken to Matt a couple of times before deciding to join the club and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“He’s very on the ball in knowing what he wants from his players and I’m looking forward to the season ahead working with him.”
Ross started her career in Scotland with Glasgow City, where she won six Scottish Women’s Premier League titles, three Scottish cups and three League Cups.
In 2013, Ross moved to Sweden to pursue her career of playing professional football, joining Vittsjö GIK. Ross spent three seasons with the Swedish side, scoring 51 goals in 82 appearances.
Ross would return to England in 2016, signing with Manchester City. Just one campaign later, Ross became Manchester City’s top goal scorer, netting 13 times during the League and Cup winning campaign.
Ahead of joining the Hammers, Ross’s final goal record with the Citizens was 25 goals in 61 games across all competitions.
Ross is now hoping to take this trophy winning and goal scoring mentality in to her new team. “I’ve come here to obviously help the team be challenging and hopefully win some silverware.”
