Fabian Balbuena helped Paraguay to a 1-1 draw with South Africa in an international friendly on Tuesday.
In new Paraguay boss Juan Carlos Osorio's first match in charge, Balbuena started at the back to earn an eighth cap for his country.
Balbuena has wasted no time in adjusting to life in the Premier League since his summer move from Corinthians and his form has been recognised by Osorio.
He played the 90 minutes in Durban, as Paraguay took a first half lead through Bologna striker Federico Santander.
They looked on course for victory, until South Africa's Percy Tau levelled it up in the final minute.
Elsewhere in Tuesday night's action, Lukasz Fabianski was an unused substitute as Poland rounded off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 1-1 draw at League A Group 3 winners Portugal.
