West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan from Le Havre.
The 23-year-old, American-born shot-stopper becomes West Ham’s sixth signing of the summer for the women’s side and will wear the No18 shirt.
“I’m really excited to join West Ham United,” Brosnan told whufc.com. “It has always been a dream of mine, since I was young, to play in England. It’s really exciting to now achieve that goal and getting the chance to be a part of everything that we can accomplish at West Ham.”
Matt Beard is thrilled to have added a talented goalkeeper to his squad, with the head coach believing his newest signing will be a capable challenge to Anna Moorhouse for the starting position.

Born in New Jersey, USA in 1995, Brosnan began her playing career with Syracuse University in 2014, having peaked as the No.91 women’s football recruit in the country. It was with Syracuse that the shot-stopper was named in the ACC All-Freshman Team.
Brosnan’s period with SU was a record-breaking time, as the goalkeeper made a career-high 93 saves.
A move to France followed in December 2017 when Brosnan signed with Ambilly Féminin. The shot-stopper spent half-a-season with the side before joining fellow French team Le Havre, featuring as the team’s preferred player between the sticks throughout the campaign.
At international level, Brosnan has featured for Ireland U17s and U19s, while also receiving a call-up for the USA Under-23s last year. The goalkeeper has also trained with Ireland’s national side, working along with West Ham United forward Leanne Kiernan at an international team level.
