West Ham United’s quest to become the FIFA eClub World Cup Champions begins this week with online qualification now open.
West Ham’s Official eSports players Jamboo and Edi Garibovic have been drawn in Group A of the qualifiers, where they will play the likes of Hertha BSC, VFB Stuttgart and Sporting CP in a bid to secure a place at the FIFA eClub World Cup Finals in February.
Only the top team in each group of eight will qualify for the live tournament phase, and the two West Ham players are confident they can get through.
Edi and I know we have the ability to get through. It would be awesome to get to the Finals.

“It’s exciting to be playing in the FIFA eClub World Cup,” Jamboo told whufc.com. “It’s a huge competition, with some of the best names playing FIFA 19 involved.
“It will be a tough test. Seven of the eight teams in each group won’t get through. But Edi and I know we have the ability to get through. It would be awesome to get to the Finals.”
The online qualification is played across both Xbox and PlayStation 4, meaning that Jamboo and Edi Garibovic’s score against each opponent will be aggregated into one result.
Edi knows the tournament format is unique, but believes he and his fellow West Ham player have the ability to qualify.
Garibovic added: “It’s a different way of playing FIFA. Jamboo’s result in a first leg could determine the way I have to play in the second leg. It’s very unique in that sense, but it’s exciting too.
“We have to communicate and work together. We know we can do that and I’m sure we can give a really good account of ourselves.”
