Managing Director Jack Sullivan is anticipating another exciting season in the Barclays Women’s Super League for West Ham United women’s team.
The Irons’ first campaign as a fully professional outfit in the top tier of women’s football saw Matt Beard’s team claim seventh in the WSL as well as reach the SSE Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.
Sullivan, head coach Beard and general manager Russ Fraser have been working hard behind the scenes in preparation for a second season in the WSL, to ensure the Club is well-equipped to progress after a strong first campaign.
We began planning for the upcoming campaign months ago to be fully prepared, including having identified a whole host of new players to try and help us move forward.

And the Managing Director is looking forward to sharing some exciting news with West Ham supporters in the near future.
“We were very happy with how last season went,” Sullivan told whufc.com. “We achieved a mid-table finish in the league and our FA Cup run – and trip to Wembley for the final – will live long in the memory of every person associated with our side.
“With it being our inaugural year as a professional outfit, a lot of the players were on one-year deals. We had a lot of honest conversations with the players towards the end of the season and each and every one of them who has departed goes with our sincerest thanks and best wishes.

“We began planning for the upcoming campaign months ago to be fully prepared, including having identified a whole host of new players to try and help us move forward.
“The confidence is there that the new recruits, who will be a mixture of youth and experience, will perfectly complement our current crop of players and we will have an even stronger squad to build on the platform we put in place last season.
“We believe West Ham United is now one of the most attractive clubs in the WSL for players to advance their careers and we are looking forward to introducing supporters to our new signings once the deals are over the line.”
Sullivan has also been a keen viewer of the FIFA Women's World Cup in France, where England reached the semi-finals and four West Ham players were in action.
The Britain's Youngest Football Boss star believes the tournament will do great things for the women's game in this country going forward, including here at West Ham.
He concluded: “The World Cup has enhanced the profile of the women’s game and we hope this will see an increase in fans for games at Rush Green, boosting our already dedicated support which we are extremely grateful for.”
