Sunday may be a day of rest in some cultures, but not in West Ham United's.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini and his staff put the squad through no fewer than three different training sessions at the Hammers' pre-season camp in Switzerland.

The Irons were on the pitch at FC Bad Ragaz at 8am for a 30-minute interval run - which Pellegrini and the coaches also took part in - before returning to their hotel for breakfast.

After a short break, it was back to the stadium for a 90-minute strength and conditioning session before lunch.

The players were then given a few hours to rest and recover before pulling on their boots for a late afternoon technical football session lasting another 90 minutes.

On their return to the hotel for dinner and a well-deserved early night, the squad was met by Hammer of the Year Lukasz Fabianski and runner-up Declan Rice, both of whom were given an extra week off following their summer international commitments with Poland and England respectively.

Pellegrini will hope all the hard work pays off when West Ham kick-off the Premier League season at home to Manchester City on Saturday 10 August.
