Manuel Pellegrini wasted no time putting his players through their paces in China, holding his first training session just a few short hours after West Ham United had touched down in Nanjing for the Premier League Asia Trophy.
With a semi-final with Manchester City - who will not arrive in the ancient capital until Monday - to look forward to on Wednesday, the Hammers spent 90 minutes working in the early evening at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Park in the city's Pukou District.
With the daytime temperatures and humidity dropping, the setting was perfect for a session that included a warm-up and a succession of technical drills involving the ball. The Irons will be back in Pukou for a more intensive session on Monday morning - and we will be there too!
