Leanne Kiernan is looking forward to facing Manchester City on Saturday in the FA Cup Final and admits it will be a big day for West Ham United.
The Republic of Ireland international has been a key figure for the Hammers this season on the wing and, despite being the youngest player in the squad, she has become one of the team’s vital members.
The Hammers No8 cannot wait for Saturday to come: “I’m really excited. It’s a big day for the Club and just really looking forward to taking in everything in on the day.
“It would have been a dream to go to Wembley and play in the FA Cup Final at the start of the season, but now that it’s happened it’s brilliant. We’re just all really excited and can’t wait for it to happen.
Not everybody gets to play at Wembley so I’m looking forward to it.

“Obviously for some of the girls and some of the team they’ve played in front of big crowds, but I’m really excited.”
Although Saturday is a historic day for the Irons, Kiernan knows that the players are there to win the trophy and not just there for the occasion.
She said: “For me it’ll just be keeping my head down and focusing on what we’re actually there for rather than the occasion.
“I’m going to enjoy it and yes there will be a bit of nerves there too, but I’m really looking forward to it. Not everybody gets to play at Wembley so I’m looking forward to it.”
Results against Manchester City have gone against West Ham United this season, but the Irons will be looking for revenge on Saturday.
Kiernan said: “Fair enough the results didn’t go our way against Manchester City this year, but I think we’ll definitely give them a game.
“You want to play the best and you want to win and if you want to win at Wembley you need to beat the best. I’m looking forward to it.”
