Arthur Masuaku has been included in DR Congo’s squad for friendly internationals with Algeria and Ivory Coast.
The West Ham United left-back received his call-up from new Leopards coach Christian Nsengi-Biembe.
Lille-born Masuaku has four caps and one goal for his country, having switched international allegiance from France in 2018 and made his debut against Zimbabwe in October last year.
He will hope to add to those tallies when DR Congo travel to Blida to take on Algeria on Thursday 10 October, before heading to Paris to take on Ivory Coast on Sunday 13 October.
The Leopards, who reached the round of 16 at this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, will kick-off their qualification campaign for the 2021 tournament in November, when they host Gabon and travel to a yet-to-be-confirmed winner from the preliminary round.
Masuaku becomes the fifth Hammer to be called-up for international duty in October, following Robert Snodgrass (Scotland), Josh Cullen (Republic of Ireland), Conor Coventry (Republic of Ireland U21) and Harrison Ashby (Scotland U19).
