Scotland's slender hopes of automatically qualifying for Euro 2020 came to an end on Thursday evening after a 4-0 away defeat at the hands of Russia.
West Ham United's Robert Snodgrass played the full 90 minutes in the contest, which was claimed in a devastating 27 second-half minutes by the hosts.
Artem Dzyuba's creative finish gave Russia the lead on 57 minutes before Magomed Ozdoev's 30-yard screamer just moments later put an end to the match as a contest. Dzyuba tapped home to get his second - and Russia's third - with 20 minutes to go before Aleksandr Golovin secured the result via the woodwork.
The loss leaves Scotland with six points from seven games in Group I but Snodgrass and his international teammates can still claim a place at Euro 2020 through the play-offs, with San Marino up next.
In friendly action, Arthur Masuaku played the full 90 minutes for DR Congo in a 1-1 draw away to Algeria. Islam Slimani had put the home side in front after just six minutes, but Cedric Bakambu levelled the match in the first half. Masuaku was booked in the opening period but played out the entire fixture.
Fabian Balbuena was an unused substitute for Paraguay as they lost a friendly 1-0 away to Serbia. Paraguay, who had Newcastle United's Miguel Almiron sent off for two yellow cards, looked to come away with a draw before Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic netted a winner on 90 minutes.
At U21s level, Conor Coventry started for Republic of Ireland in their UEFA Euro U21 Championship qualifier with Italy. The Group A contest ended level in more than one sense; with the sides both taking a share of the points and getting a player sent off in the match. Ireland's Troy Parrott and Italy's Moise Kean were given their marching orders by the official at the Tallaght Stadium.
The result keeps Ireland top of Group A, with ten points from their four matches so far.
Finally, Goncalo Cardoso played the full 90 minutes for Portugal U20s in a 1-1 friendly draw with the Netherlands.
