The Boleyn Ground. Saturday 2 April 2016. Four minutes before half-time. West Ham United are drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace in the Premier League when Dimitri Payet is fouled by Joel Ward 25 yards from the Eagles' goal.
With five assists and six goals in his previous seven matches, the France international is in arguably the best form of his entire career, but nobody could have anticipated what happened next.
Payet steps up and curls a free-kick over the seven-man defensive wall, but the ball appears to be flying high over Wayne Hennessey's goal. Then, it dips late, clips the underside of the crossbar and flies into the top right-hand corner.
The No28 reacts by running away with his arms outstretched before leaping and drop-kicking the corner flag. Again, his aim is perfect!
Cheikhou Kouyate is controversially sent-off and Palace equalise through Dwight Gayle's late goal, but nobody will ever forget the sight of seeing Payet's inch-perfect strike nestle in the Eagles' net.
