After a successful first series of Britain’s Youngest Football Boss, documentary crews will return to Rush Green for a second series following West Ham United women during their 2019/20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign.
Last season’s epic Women’s FA Cup run, which took the team to Wembley Stadium, premiered on BBC Three and also received coveted airtime after Match Of The Day on BBC One.
This has led to BBC Three commissioning another series, to continue the grassroots story of 20-year-old Managing Director Jack Sullivan and his team of top-flight players.
The women’s game has boomed since the Women’s World Cup in 2019, with record audiences both on TV and at stadia across the country. With eight exciting new players in the squad, September saw West Ham United women play in front of a 24,790 crowd at London Stadium, the home of West Ham United, and achieve the third highest attendance in WSL history.

This season, West Ham United women’s team continue to progress, with head coach Matt Beard adding experienced internationals and seasoned trophy winners to his squad in the summer, such as France international Kenza Dali and German Champions League winner Laura Vetterlein.
Having announced themselves to the world in the team’s first professional season, the challenge facing head coach Beard and his side now revolves around establishing themselves in the top flight of women’s football.

We hope that the documentary helps all women’s football teams, not just West Ham United, and we genuinely feel it is a great showcase of how a real women’s team is run.

With new players, new challenges and the continuing our growth of the club, there’s lots to look forward to and we hope that we can make it as exciting as last year. We can’t wait to see the new episodes at the end of the season.”
