West Ham United women’s team ramped up their return for pre-season with a move into Stage Two of the Return to Training protocol.
The Hammers began work at their new, state-of-the-art facility at Chadwell Heath last week and, having successfully progressed through Stage One, Matt Beard’s Irons stepped into the next level on Tuesday.
Having worked in smaller groups last week, Stage Two permits the team to work on the pitch as a full group while still minimising any unnecessary close contact.
Head coach Beard had his full squad back for pre-season with the likes of Alisha Lehmann, Adriana Leon, Kenza Dali and Cecilie Redisch back on the pitches.
Goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold, who joined West Ham last week as the Club’s first new signing ahead of the 2020/21 Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign, was also involved in her first session as a Hammer.
The Club, its medical and operations team have put many measures in place that go above and beyond the Government and FA recommendations to ensure that Chadwell Heath can be as safe as it can possibly be, including health screening and temperature tents for players and staff upon entry, disinfecting of training equipment and footballs, and players arriving and departing in their own kit.
