Lukasz Fabianski named in FIFA 21 Team of the Week

Inform Lukasz Fabianski

West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski’s heroic last-gasp penalty save against Fulham has seen the Poland international named in the FIFA 21 Team of the Week.

The Irons’ No1 produced an assured display in goal against the visitors to London Stadium on Saturday evening, plunging low to his right to deny Bobby Reid midway through the second half.

The best was yet to come, however, as Fulham were awarded a penalty kick moments after Tomas Soucek had slammed West Ham into the lead in injury time.

Ademola Lookman took responsibility for Fulham but his ‘Panenka’ penalty was denied by Fabianski, who had initially dived to his right but did well to adjust his momentum and stop the ball from crossing the line.

Fabianski duly celebrated vociferously at full-time and now has another accolade to cherish, with a special ‘in-form’ FIFA Ultimate Team game card awaiting him.

The card seeds Fabianski’s overall base rating boosted from 81 to an impressive 84, with his diving up from 80 to 84; his reflexes from 82 to 85; his handling from 82 to 85; and his positioning boosted from 81 to 84.

The custodian’s Team of the Week card is available in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team packs as of 6pm on Wednesday 11 November until 5.59pm on Wednesday 18 November.

Fabianski becomes the second Iron to be named in the Team of the Week this season, following Jarrod Bowen’s inclusion in the game’s very first edition of the squad.
