Vladimír Coufal’s fine form for the Czech Republic has been recognised, with the West Ham United right-back included in the FIFA 21 Team of the Week.
The defender, who joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague in October, played a pivotal role in keeping his country’s hopes of Nations League promotion alive against Israel on Sunday.
Coufal not only helped his side to a vital clean sheet, but also got forward on the counter-attack to potent effect, providing the assist for Vladimir Darida’s seventh-minute winning goal.
An all-round excellent performance from the Irons’ No5 – alongside fellow Hammer, Tomáš Souček – helped Czech Republic to see off the visitors 1-0.
As a result, they may yet finish top of Group B2, which would see them promoted to League A for the next iteration of the competition; in order to do secure top spot, they will need to beat Slovakia on Wednesday evening and hope that Scotland fail to win in Israel.
Coufal’s ‘in-form’ Ultimate Team card will boost his overall rating from 78 to a handy 82, with his pace rating up from 81 to 85; his dribbling from 74 to 79; his defending from 73 to 77; and his physical stats increased from 81 to 85.
Coufal becomes the second West Ham United player in as many weeks to be named in FIFA 21’s Team of the Week, following Lukasz Fabianski’s selection last time around.
Forward Jarrod Bowen was also featured in FIFA 21’s first Team of the Week.
If you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to pick up Coufal’s Team of the Week card in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team packs as of 6pm on Wednesday 18 November. They will be available until 5.59pm on Wednesday 25 November.
