West Ham United's comeback from three goals down to claim a point at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday night might have seemed improbable to most observers, but Aaron Cresswell says his team never lost hope in north London.
The Hammers found themselves staring at a mountain to climb when Son Heung-min and twice Harry Kane scored to give the hosts a 3-0 lead inside 16 minutes.
Indeed, Tottenham still held that lead with eight minutes to play - a time so late in the contest that no Premier League side had ever emerged from that deficit with a positive result.
But such history meant nothing to the Hammers, and after Fabian Balbuena and a Davinson Sanchez own goal got them back within touching distance, Manuel Lanzini's long-range stunner was the icing on the cake.
For Cresswell, it was another example of the fine spirit the Hammers are showing in the 2020/21 campaign.

"To come back from 3-0 down and get the draw in the manner we did was fantastic," he explained.
"The game was all theirs for the first 15 minutes, but you hang in with it and I thought we did very well. We never gave up and got our rewards at the end.
"We're all together and really tight-knit and that's what you need as a team if you want to progress. It's still early doors only five games in, but that's what we've got to do throughout the season.
"It was just a shame there were no fans in on Sunday night, because what a way it was to end the game."
Lanzini's strike was one for the ages and especially timely for the Hammers No10, as he searches for a return to his best form after an injury-disrupted period.
Cresswell has played with Lanzini throughout his five-year Hammers career so has seen at first hand the quality he has produced on a consistent basis in Claret & Blue.
So, he was delighted for his teammate that his patience was rewarded with such a memorable goal.
"Manu has got that quality," he added. "Obviously he had a bad injury a couple of years ago and this season probably hasn't gone the way he wanted so far.
"He's stuck at it and I couldn't be more proud of him."
