This Saturday sees West Ham United women's team take on Arsenal in the Barclays FA WSL, in a 5.20pm kick off, live on BT Sport.
The Hammers’ first home fixture of the season, after the summer move to Dagenham & Redbridge FC, has been selected as one of the pilot events to test the return of spectators to elite sporting fixtures.
The Club has continued to work in line with the latest Government guidance and has held ongoing discussions with the FA, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), Barking and Dagenham Council, Dagenham & Redbridge FC and the Safety Advisory Group, all of whom have given their full backing and support to continue with this match as a pilot event.
The Club has put robust and thorough plans in place as the safety and wellbeing of our supporters, players and staff remains the Club’s absolute priority. With matchday fast approaching, we ask that women’s Season Ticket holders attending the pilot co-operate fully with all protocols, as has been required in line with Government guidance since lockdown began. We will need, and are grateful for your ongoing support to put on an event that is safe for everyone.
Government guidance on how these pilot events should run has been developed with UK Sport and in close consultation with the Deputy Chief Medical Officers of England, Public Health England, the Sports Grounds Safety Authority, Police and medical representatives across Olympic, Paralympic and professional sports governing bodies.
The Club has also worked with the relevant authorities to ensure spectators have all of the information required to be able to attend the match safely.
E-tickets will be sent to women’s Season Ticket Holders electronically on Friday to be downloaded onto smartphones or printed at home for those fans without smartphones, along with a Code of Conduct for all attendees to follow. Any Season Ticket Holders who do not have an email address should, by now, have received a phone call from the Club Ticket Office explaining their options.
Supporters are reminded that if you are currently required to quarantine under Government guidelines, show any symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling unwell, you must not attend the match. Further guidelines can be found on the Government’s website. For any queries on medical exemption, please contact the Ticket Office by emailing [email protected].
