Four West Ham United players are set for quarter-final action at UEFA Euro 2020 this weekend as the tournament reaches its final stages.
Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal are first up on Saturday evening, when their Czech Republic side take on Denmark in Baku.
The Czechs defeated the Netherlands 2-0 in the Round of 16, as the Hammers duo combined for the fourth time at Euro 2020.
Souček and Coufal have played a key role in their team’s success, helping them emerge from Group D alongside England and Croatia, keeping two clean sheets in their four matches to date.
Now Denmark await in the 5pm kick-off, having recovered from defeats in their first two matches to finish second in Group B and overwhelm Wales 4-0 in the second round.
Then, later on Saturday, two Hammers could come face to face when Declan Rice’s England play Andriy Yarmolenko’s Ukraine in Rome.
Yarmolenko has scored twice and added a further two assists as his nation progressed from the group phase at a Euros for the first time.
By defeating Sweden after extra-time in their second-round tie on Tuesday night, they have now set-up a meeting with the Three Lions, who secured a first knockout win over Germany since 1966 in midweek.
Rice was a solid presence alongside Kalvin Phillips in midfield as Gareth Southgate’s men kept a fourth straight clean sheet.
With the winners of the two ties set to meet in the semi-finals, another all-West Ham clash could await.
