West Ham United is pleased to announce that Łukasz Fabiański has extended his stay with the Club until June 2022.
The popular goalkeeper has made 90 appearances since moving to London Stadium in summer 2018, keeping 22 clean sheets and winning the Hammer of the Year award at the end of his first season with the Club.
An experienced international with more than 50 caps for Poland, the 35-year-old has brought a calm assuredness to the defence, while his performances and personality have made him a firm favourite among the Claret and Blue Army.
As he and his teammates seek to end a much-improved 2020/21 season strongly, Fabiański is looking forward to spending another year in east London.

“I’m really happy about it,” said the No1. “I’m very thankful for the belief the Club has put in me and I want to just continue to do well for the team, for the Club and for the fans.
“I’m really pleased and really looking to continuing to work hard and put in good performances for the Club.”
For Fabiański and the Club, extending his stay is further affirmation of what a superb decision it was by both parties to join forces three summers ago.
“I’m really enjoying it. I think it has been a really good move for me and since I came here, I’ve felt very settled. The transition for me was very easy and I really enjoy playing for this Football Club, so I am happy I can stay a bit longer and continue to do my best on and off the pitch.”
Being settled has been of huge importance during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prevented Fabiański and his wife Anna and son Jan from returning to Poland to see their wider family and friends.
The goalkeeper shared videos of him training in his garden with Jan during the first national lockdown, and Fabiański revealed the five-year-old is still keeping a close eye on his Dad’s career!
“With what we have been experiencing, it has been really important to be settled and my son now calls this place ‘home’ and it’s home to him,” he explained, with a smile. “He loves West Ham United and he is so into football now, so I think he is as happy as I am with this extension!”
Born in the town of Kostrzyn nad Odrą in western Poland in April 1985, Fabiański played for Lech Poznan and Legia Warsaw in his homeland, winning the Ekstraklasa title with the latter at the age of 21 before transferring to English club Arsenal in the May 2007.
Fabiański spent seven seasons with the Gunners, climaxing with an FA Cup final win in 2014, before switching to then-Premier League rivals. Swansea City, where he totalled 150 appearances across four seasons and won Player of the Year honours in 2018.
The experienced stopper moved to east London and was ever-present in 2018/19, ending his debut campaign by being voted Hammer of the Year by West Ham supporters.
Now closing in on 100 appearances for the Club, Fabiański has kept eight clean sheets this season, helping the Hammers mount a challenge for a strong Premier League finish.
