Vladimír Coufal and Tomáš Souček have been named in Czech Republic’s 26-man squad for the UEFA European Championship finals.

The former Slavia Prague duo, who moved to West Ham United in October and January of last year respectively, will look forward to the chance to compete in the prestigious tournament, which was delayed by a year by the COVID-19 pandemic and will be hosted around Europe over the summer months.

Coufal and Souček will link up with their Czech teammates in the coming days to prepare for the competition, with warm-up friendlies scheduled against Italy in Bologna on 4 June and Albania in Prague on 8 June.

Competing in Group D, they will then make the voyage to Glasgow for their opening group-stage fixture with Scotland at Hampden Park on 14 June.

Czech Republic will play their second game – against Croatia – at the same venue on 18 June, before returning to London for an eagerly-anticipated game against England at Wembley on 22 June.

The final will be held at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday 11 July.

Coufal and Souček will be looking to add to their tallies of 14 and 33 caps for their country respectively.

Both players are set to make their major international tournament debuts at Euro 2020, with Coufal having debuted in October 2017, Souček in November 2016, and Czech Republic having failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.
