It has been quite a few days for West Ham United duo Declan Rice and Pablo Fornals.
Rice overcame a six-week injury lay-off and missing an early penalty to lead the Hammers into Europe courtesy of wins over West Bromwich Albion and Southampton in their final two Premier League matches, fittingly completing the scoring against the Saints with a superb individual goal four minutes from full-time.
Fornals, meanwhile, played his part in all six goals scored by the Irons in those two victories, scoring twice in the final-day success against Southampton in front of 10,000 supporters at London Stadium that clinched West Ham’s place in next season’s UEFA Europa League group stage.
What’s more, the popular Spanish midfielder revealed in an Instagram post between the two matches that he and his long-time girlfriend Tania are expecting their first child together.
And so it was that when they spoke to West Ham TV following Sunday’s win, both men were full of jokes and smiles as they reflected on a memorable season based around team spirit, resilience and commitment to the Claret and Blue cause.
The result was five emotional, heart-warming minutes in which both players shared their passion for the Club, welcomed the return of fans and looked ahead to the exciting times ahead, which you can enjoy right here!
