West Ham United will soon be confirming the list of animal welfare charities that are to receive donations following the Club fine handed to Kurt Zouma.
Our team at the West Ham United Foundation, which does such acclaimed work across an enormous spectrum of community programmes and charitable causes, is currently in the process of identifying the charities we believe will benefit most from financial support.
This is an important and thorough process that must be conducted with care and due diligence, to ensure that any charity selected is fully registered and meets the criteria for receiving a donation.
We have received a number of approaches directly from charities and potential beneficiaries, along with recommendations from local stakeholders, all of which have been considered as part of the Foundation’s process.
In order to ensure that any deserving cases in the Club’s east London and Essex heartland were identified, we also reached out to our Independent Supporters’ Committee, whose members have used their network of supporters and fan groups to put forward a number of suggestions in the local area.
The process is now in its final stages and the Club will announce the chosen list of charities receiving donations as soon as we are in a position to do so.
