David Moyes: We need to hang in there

West Ham United boss David Moyes was left to rue an injury time Marcus Rashford goal as he felt his team's defensive effort was going to gain reward at Manchester United on Saturday.

The visitors appeared on course to take a hard-earned point from a tight contest at Old Trafford, only for Rashford to settle the matter with the only goal so late in the contest.

His intervention came in the third minute of three added by referee Jonathan Moss, leaving no time to respond and Moyes to reflect on a frustrating outcome.

That wasn't what we wanted and we're really, really disappointed.

We did an awful lot of good things today - we didn't deserve to win, but we certainly deserved a draw.

We didn't play as well as we can in the attacking side of the game, but we did a better job defensively today.

You have to know how to see games out.

Let's be fair, people who watch West Ham regularly will see that we've had games where it has been a problem.

We've been winning games 3-0 and it's ended up 3-2, or had games like that, so it's something that we need to do much better.

I thought we had much better organisation today.

I thought we defended better and had better organisation coming away here today, but having a tight, compact organisation also affected our ability to attack, score and make more chances.

But that's what happens when you play against the bigger teams - you have to have a balance between it.

I thought we had a good defensive balance today, but our attacking play wasn't of the level that we've produced in other games.

The players have done a really good job over the season.

We're trying to challenge the teams up at the top and make sure they don't think they're going to get an easy game when they come up against us.

We need to keep at it, hang in there and see where we end up. We did it last season and it shows when we're disappointed coming here today and not coming away with something out of it.
