West Ham United came from behind to secure a thrilling 4-3 home win over Sheffield Wednesday on this day in 1999.
A fiery contest at the Boleyn Ground opened with the Hammers not having scored in over six hours of football, while Wednesday sat bottom of the Premier League at kick-off.
Paulo Wanchope thought he had given he Irons an early lead, only for the effort to be ruled out for an offside, but the forward eventually grabbed his goal on 28 minutes as he forced home following a team move involving Marc Vivien Foe and Trevor Sinclair.
Petter Rudi levelled for the visitors ten minutes later with a rasping effort from outside the area, before Wednesday took the lead three minutes into the second half thanks to Wim Jonk's close-ranged finish.
The Irons were awarded a penalty after a foul on Sinclair, with Paolo Di Canio making no mistake from the spot to level the match.
A wild spell followed as Andy Booth headed in Wednesday's third, to once again give them the lead, only for the away side to be reduced to ten men after Danny Sonner was dismissed for a foul on Di Canio.
Foe fired in a terrific finish to pull West Ham level before Lampard completed the turnaround six minutes later, cleverly avoiding two tackles before netting to secure the 4-3 win.
