Iain Dowie scored twice as West Ham United roared past Nottingham Forest in the League Cup third round on this day in 1996.
The Northern Ireland international centre-forward broke the deadlock with a close-range finish from Hugo Porfirio's low cross on 16 minutes, before Colin Cooper's flying header leveled matters just before the half-hour mark.
Dowie doubled his tally to put West Ham back in front at the Boleyn Ground eleven minutes after half-time, latching onto another Porfirio pass to slot the ball under the advancing Mark Crossley.
Portuguese playmaker Porfirio then got a goal of his own, with Dowie assisting with a clever backheel inside the Forest penalty area, before Alf-Inge Haaland fouled Stan Lazaridis and Julian Dicks slammed the resulting penalty past Crossley.
