Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Heineken...
Paulo Wanchope's late winner secured a 2-1 Premiership win for West Ham United over Newcastle United at the Boleyn Ground on this day in 2000.
Gary Speed put the Magpies in front three minutes into the second half when Kieron Dyer's cross was deflected into the Wales midfielder's path and he drove low past Craig Forrest from just inside the penalty area.
However, West Ham would not be denied and levelled on the hour-mark. Paolo Di Canio lofted in a cross from the right touchline and Costa Rican Wanchope leapt high above his marker to power a header in via the fingertips of Shay Given and the inside of the post.
Then, with just a minute of normal time remaining, the Hammers took all three points with a magical goal as Joe Cole found Di Canio, who delivered a wonderful ball with the outside of his right boot to Wanchope, who controlled, turned and fired high beyond Given.
West Ham would finish the 1999/00 season ninth with 55 points.
