Emerson Palmieri - Career in Pictures

Emerson Palmieri arrives at West Ham United having already achieved great things in his career.

The 28-year-old kicked-off with Pelé's old club Santos in Brazil as a teenager before moving to Italy - the country of his great-grandfather's birth - in 2014.

The left-back spent a single season in Sicily before joining Serie A rivals Roma, where he helped the club challenge at the top end of the table in his three seasons in the Italian capital.

From there, he moved to London and Chelsea, where he won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup and helped the club reach both the FA Cup and EFL Cup finals.

At international level, Emerson won the South American U-17 Championship with Brazil before switching allegiance to Italy in 2017 and going on to win UEFA Euro 2020, beating Declan Rice's England in the final just over a year ago.

Welcome to West Ham United, Emerson Palmieri!
