It is that time of the year again.
The hotly anticipated FA Cup third-round draw will take place on Monday 28 November, with West Ham United one of 64 clubs waiting to find out their opponents.
Of course, West Ham has won the prestigious cup competition three times in the Club’s history. After triumphs in 1964 and 1975, the most recent FA Cup win came in 1980, when a Trevor Brooking header memorably beat Arsenal 1-0 at Wembley Stadium.
In last season’s FA Cup, David Moyes’ men were eliminated in the fifth round, falling to a 3-1 defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on 2 March 2022. The Hammers had previously beaten Leeds United and Kidderminster to reach that stage.
West Ham last reached a FA Cup Final in 2006 but lost to Liverpool – the current FA Cup holders – after a 3-3 draw on penalties.
When will the third-round draw take place?
The draw for the FA Cup third round proper will take place on Monday 28 November. It will be made at Anfield – the home of last year’s FA Cup winners, Liverpool – between 7pm and 7.30pm GMT.
The draw will be available to watch on BBC Two,and will also be live on the Emirates FA Cup Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts.

How will the draw work?
Including West Ham United, 64 teams will find their opponent in Monday’s draw. 32 teams will progress into the fourth round.
The Hammers have been confirmed as ball number 42 for Monday’s draw.
How did the third round unfold in 2021/22?
In the 150th edition of the FA Cup, West Ham United were drawn against Leeds United in the third round.
In 2021/22, goals from Manuel Lanzini and Jarrod Bowen saw the Irons progress to the next stage with a 2-0 win at London Stadium.
The Argentina midfielder put David Moyes’ outfit ahead just after 30 minutes when he tapped home the rebound after Nikola Vlašić forced Illan Meslier to fumble the ball in the area.
Freed by Michail Antonio, Bowen then secured the victory with a placed finish past Meslier in second half stoppage-time.

So, who could we play against?
The third round proper draw sees Premier League and EFL Championship sides join the competition. There are no limitations around potential opponents, meaning the Hammers could play against any other Premier League side.
As well as the 44 teams from the Premier League and Championship, 20 other sides from EFL League One, League Two and the lower divisions will be involved at this stage.
When will our third-round tie take place?
The FA Cup third round fixtures will take place across the weekend of Friday 6 January-Monday 9 January 2023.
A date and time for the third round fixture will be confirmed in due course, following the draw.
