West Ham United's five-match unbeaten run came to an end in unfortunate circumstances at Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Darwin Núńez's 22nd minute header was enough to settle a tight affair on Merseyside, although West Ham did have their chances as they searched for a leveller.
Jarrod Bowen had a 44th minute penalty saved by Alisson, while the Brazil goalkeeper also denied Saïd Benrahma and Tomáš Souček after the break.
The goal just would not come though as Liverpool held on for the points.
