1. Saïd on the spot
Having sent an early free-kick into the side netting, Saïd Benrahma, who was the sole change to the starting XI from our trip to Liverpool, continued to be a menace throughout in east London.
Two second-half efforts from distance were stuck narrowly off target before the Algerian made no mistake from 12 yards.
His first Premier League goal of the season came in stoppage time at London Stadium. A 2-0 triumph was secured as Benrahma sent Mark Travers the wrong way from 12 yards and smashed his penalty into the left corner.
“That is the quality Saïd has got,” enthused Bowen on his teammate's performance. “His one-v-one ability, creating things. He was a real bright spark.
“It was a brilliant penalty to make it 2-0. Saïd was brilliant tonight. I am so happy for him."
2. Women play their part
West Ham United Women were part of a raucous home crowd of over 62,000 at London Stadium on Monday evening as the men's side secured a 2-0 victory against Bournemouth.
The Hammers first-team squad and backroom team completed a lap of appreciation around the ground before kick-off, while Lisa Evans and Captain Dagný Brynjarsdóttir were interviewed by our matchday presenter, Chris Scull.
The women have secured three wins from five Women’s Super League matches this season after Paul Konchesky’s outfit defeated Reading 3-2 last Sunday.
3. Kurt Zouma reaches double century in Premier League
It was a decent night all-round for Kurt Zouma, who made his 200th Premier League appearance.
The French defender capped the milestone with a goal just before the interval.
Zouma nodded home the opening goal against the Cherries from a corner - his first since a 3-2 win over Liverpool at London Stadium last November – to ensure the Irons led 1-0 at the break.
4. Rainbow Laces light up London Stadium
Monday's win in east London marked our Rainbow Laces fixture, with a specially-themed light show pre-game.
Over the football weekend, the Premier League and all 20 clubs – including West Ham United – demonstrated their ongoing support for LGBTQ+ inclusion by celebrating Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
Declan Rice wore a rainbow-coloured captain’s armband, while ball plinths and boards also highlighted important messages.
Speaking before the fixture, Pride of Irons’ Jo Bailey said: “We’re definitely moving in the right direction, and I have to say that West Ham as a Club are fantastic – they are at the forefront of inclusivity with their LGBTQ+ fans, they come to us and collaborate on ideas to maximise our coverage and we can also go to them – there’s always an open channel for conversation.”
5. Fortress London Stadium
A third straight home Premier League triumph moves the Irons up to tenth in the table.
In another impressive home display from Moyes’ men, former Hammer Gary O'Neil saw his side's chances limited at London Stadium.
When the visitors did attack, Tomáš Souček made a vital stretched challenge to break up play on more than one occasion. Thilo Kehrer also did well to clear the ball as Bournemouth threatened an equaliser late on, before Benrahma clinched the points.
In front of the Claret and Blue Army, the Irons have now won five consecutive matches in all competitions. They have conceded one goal in three league matches.
