Ings celebration against Forest

FPL - Gameweek 26 Preview

With West Ham United looking for a first Premier League win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, Danny Ings’ two goals on his full debut suggest he could be a player to watch in Fantasy Premier League.

HAMMER IN FOCUS: INGS WE LOVE TO SEE

Danny Ings’ full debut went exactly to plan. Two goals, a 4-0 win, all played out in front of a jubilant London Stadium.

Brought in from Aston Villa to score goals, Ings has certainly delivered, although his finishing suggests it is just the start.

Scoring on a full league debut for a third club, the £6.4m-priced finisher tapped home Jarrod Bowen’s shot to kickstart the win, before adding his – and the Irons' – second of the afternoon when he bundled Saïd Benrahma’s cross into the net.

Ings FPL

Now with 70 Premier League goals to his name, Ings has shown his attacking quality in abundance in 2022/23 to record 74 points with 25 Gameweeks played.

Of note is that he scored a brace in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Brighton earlier this season too – and could be key should the Hammers break their duck against the Seagulls this weekend. His ownership of a mere 1.4% suggests the 30-year-old could be an important differential should his form continue over the next weeks too.

OPPOSITION ONE TO WATCH: MITOMA MAGIC

A talented dribbler, Kaoura Mitoma caught the eye of FPL bosses when he scored in five straight Premier League games against Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Leicester City, and AFC Bournemouth.

Mitoma FPL

The initial benefit of Mitoma in your team has perhaps faded, with a rapid rise of ownership seeing the Brighton forward picked by one in every ten FPL managers at the time of writing, although his total points haul of 71 suggests there is plenty more to come from the 25-year-old. He has passed double-figure Gameweek points hauls on two occasions this season already.

Priced at £5.3m and with nine-goal contributions in his first 20 matches on the south coast, Mitoma will be a player to watch as the conclusion of the 2022/23 season approaches, and one the Hammers seek to stop on Saturday.

Brighton also have a double Gameweek approaching in GW27, which sees Mitoma have two chances to bring in the points after the Hammers head to the south coast.

Brighton & Hove Albion next three fixtures: WHU (h), LEE (a), CRY (h)
